September in Bodrum

Bodrum is a perfect place to have holiday and enjoy every second of time. The amazing athmosphere of Bodrum every time accompanies my wine in a special way. So all I need good wines to enjoy my time.

This time I had chance to taste 3 different wines from 3 different countries.

#1st. is from Italy, white wine, Gavi, Vecchia Storia

fruit and citron taste, soft body. Perfect choice for summer sunsets.

#2nd. is from France, Red wine, Pays D'oc Pinot Noir

,dark fruits, clear taste and well-balanced body.

#3rd. Casal Mendes, Rose,
 sweet, frensh and fruit taste, dark color. 

Umurbey wine tasting day

Umurbey is a brand that may be one of the oldest companies in wine sector of Turkey. My fırst tasting experience about Umurbey wines was in Bodrum wine tasting days'. But this time, I got more chances to taste and take information about the story of the company.

I did 5 tastings of Umurbey's products.

Sauvignon Blanc 2010

fresh and citron aroma with balaced body.

 -Rose-

Blend Rose and Shiraz & Merlot 2011

light somon color, red fruits taste, lively body.

-Red-

Merlot 2009

dark bordo color, black fruits taste on mouth, soft and easy to drink 

Cabarnet Sauvignon & Merlot 2008

this 6 month oak waited, vanilia and light spicy taste. Fresh and balanced body.

One day in Kos

One day in Kos!

We were in Kos just for one day but we had pleasure in every single moment. With my friend Gözde, first we had greek frappe in center then we rented a motobike and we went up to the village called ZİA which is famous for having the best traditional greek tavernas and a fantastic view.

In Kos I found a white wine from Santorini island. The name of this wine comes from the way of making it. Harvest in the afternoon gives to the wine name NYKTERİ which means "staying up all night" in greek. Wine has  sparkling body, fresh and fruit taste.

Paris sokaklarındayım.
Bu sefer Le Marais bölgesinde. Balkonu, Center Pompidou müzesini çevreleyen renkli dev borulara bakan küçük bir stüdyo.
 Sabahları sokağın başındaki pastanede içtiğim kahve ve kruvasanlar, birkaç sokak ileride akşam üzerileri harika Kir kokteylleri içtiğimiz Bar La Perle. Her öğün farklı şaraplar tadabildiğim yerel restoranlar ve muhteşem şarap tadım workshop'u.
1 hafta boyunca Paris'de şarap için yapılan geziler, tadımlar ve workshop.

This time I was in Bodrum for 5 days. It was not enough to do everything I wanted but still it was okay to have good times. One of the best things about my holidays in Bodrum is to taste new wines towards to my wonderful hometown view. When I first met Gali wines, I tasted 2009 harvest. The responsible of Gali wines Nilgün Kavur recommended their 2010 harvest and gave me a bottle for present.

First of all, I have to say that Gali suprised me when i tasted 2010 harvest. Especially after waiting one hour in Carafe, it completely got in a great acidity and I can say that this well bodied wine represents merlot's character very well! 2009 harvest Gali had a stronger taste and Merlot was dominant.It is clear that 2010 harvest offers more balanced combination between Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Chardonnay night out

We are together again to taste wine in Sensus. This time we choose 2 different chardonnay to company our night. A cold glass of chardonnay is one of the best option for the hot summer nights. During the tasting we have so much fun as usual.
